Code of Ethics
MCACCA CODE OF ETHICS
In order to uphold and advance the honor and dignity of the air conditioning profession and in keeping with high standards of ethical conduct.
Section 1 – Members will be guided in all his or hers professional relations by the highest standards of integrity, and will act in professional matters for each client or employer as a faithful agent or trustee and will strive to increase the competence and prestige of the Air Conditioning Industry.
Section 2 – Members will admit and take responsibility for his own errors and refrain from distorting the facts in an attempt to justify his actions.
Members will comply with all rules, regulations and ordinances governing his Industry.
Members will not attempt to attract an employee from another employer by unfair methods.
Section 3 – Members will have proper regard for the safety, health, welfare and property of the public in the performance of his professional duties. He will notify the proper authority of any observed conditions, which endanger public health.
Section 4 – Members will not advertise his work in a manner likely to discredit or unfavorably reflect upon the dignity or honor of the profession. Misleading advertising, implications or practice shall be considered a violation of the Code of Ethics.
Section 5 – Members will not attempt to injure, maliciously or falsely, directly or indirectly, the reputation, prospects, practice or employment of another air conditioning contractor. If he believes that another member contractor is guilty of unethical practices, he shall submit such information to the Board of Directors of this Association. A member found guilty of violation of the Code of Ethics may be suspended or expelled from the Association after a proper hearing.
Section 6 – Members will resolve to uphold the highest ethical standards of selling, advertising, pricing, installation and service guided by the principles of honest and integrity.
Section 7 – Increase our efficiency through educational programs to contribute a portion of our time and thought to the advancement of our industry through our association.
Section 8 – Members agree to discourage their employees from participating in side-work or other illegal activity as it concerns the industry.
Section 9 – Members agree not to allow their employees to deliberately damage equipment or knowingly make fraudulent statements concerning equipment condition for the purpose of making a sale.
Members agree that should they wish to withdraw they will tender their resignation, in writing, to the Board of Directors. Members agree that upon their resignation, or if membership is terminated by the Association, members will pay all dues and outstanding charges up to the date of their resignation or termination.
Members understand that, in the event their membership is terminated by either party, they will be required to discontinue the use of MCACCA insignia and other forms of membership identification, in accordance with the association By-laws. If necessary, the Association may take any legal steps necessary to enforce these By-law provisions and we may be liable for legal fees.
All applications for membership are subject to the approval of the MCACCA Board of Directors. Dues and solicitations are not deductible as a charitable contribution, but may be considered a business expense.
